James is Asigma's principal legal advisor. He started off his career at Kampala Associated Advocates where he worked on several regional mergers and acquisitions. He also gained experience as a Partner at Orima & Co Advocates.
James has advised on numerous private equity transactions in the FMCG, Financial Services, and Insurance sectors. He has advised on a combined 120MW of hydro power projects in Uganda with a combined financing of over US$250m from the German Investment Corporation (DEG), and a 50MW biomass power plant in Ivory Coast.
He is a Director at Earth Energy Limited, the developer of a 20MW biomass power plant in Northern Uganda, which will be the largest biomass plant in the country when completed. He is also a Director in Moto Geothermal Projekt Limited, the concession holder of two proposed geothermal energy sites in Uganda.
James received a Bachelor of Laws from Makerere University and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Kampala. He is an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda, a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society.
